StudyBuddy Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the StudyBuddy iOS app ("StudyBuddy", "the app") handles your information. It applies to the app published on the Apple App Store by the developer of StudyBuddy.

Data we collect

None. StudyBuddy has no account system, no sign-up, and no login. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information.

Data stored on your device

To make the app work, StudyBuddy saves the following in a private database inside the app's own storage area on your iPhone:

• Study sets you create, including their titles and the term and definition pairs you enter
• Which items you have marked as favorites
• Your quiz results: correct and incorrect counts per item, and a history of completed study sessions
• Your progress totals: points earned, current streak, and the date you last studied
• Your app preferences, such as whether you have completed onboarding and your study reminder settings

This data never leaves your device. It is not uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we have no ability to read it.

Network access

StudyBuddy does not connect to the internet. The app contains no networking code, no backend server, and no remote API. It is fully functional offline and behaves identically whether or not your device has a connection.

Analytics, tracking, and advertising

StudyBuddy contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, no advertising, and no tracking technologies of any kind. We do not use cookies, device identifiers, or the App Tracking Transparency framework, because there is nothing to track.

Third parties

We do not share data with third parties, because no data is collected. StudyBuddy is built with the open-source Flutter framework and uses open-source software libraries that run entirely on your device; none of them transmit your information anywhere.

Notifications

If you enable study reminders, StudyBuddy schedules local notifications on your device at the time you choose. These are generated and delivered entirely by iOS on your iPhone. No push notification server is involved and no notification content is sent off your device. You can turn reminders off at any time in the app's Settings screen, or in the iOS Settings app.

Children's privacy

StudyBuddy is suitable for all ages and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Deleting your data

You can delete individual study items or entire study sets from within the app at any time. Deleting the app from your iPhone permanently removes all StudyBuddy data stored on the device. Because nothing is stored on a server, no further deletion request is necessary and there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.

Data security

Your StudyBuddy data is held in the app's private container and is protected by the standard iOS application sandbox and your device's own security features, such as your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of StudyBuddy changes how information is handled, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the "last updated" date above will change.
